Leopard Tortoise Egg Laying Series |
This is the finished product. Even now it is difficult to see where the actual hole was. The gray image shows the exact location. Now we wait. In the fall of the year 2000, after a rainstorm we will find babies emerging from this nest. The babies seem to be able to sense the weather and will wait unterground until a storm. This is probably to give them a better chance of survival since water will be available right away. Usually most if not all eggs will hatch successfullly. Maybe we will get photos of this nest hatching. If so you can bet on seeing them here.
We hope you enjoyed this series. If we did not answer your questions please email us to let us know. This series is still under construction and we will try to add as much missing information as possible. |
